Request 1: Anything: MCU Sam Wilson/Bucky Barnes - I like these boys from the movies or from their comics if you're making graphics/icons/whatever. I like it when they're sweet and dumb or when they break your heart, or when they get a little dark.

Request 2: Doodles: german shepherd dogs or blue heelers (holiday inspired is loved by not necessary). Believe me, I'd love any level of talent here.

Request 3: Recipes: sweet or dessert things that incorporate cheese of any kind, especially if a dum-dum like me can follow the directions

Request 4: Recs: Dean/Castiel the later seasons preferable and as close to canon as possible

Request 5: Anything: related to Kurt Vonnegut and his works - picspams, recs for books you've read and loved or hated. I often have both feelings while reading : ). Any kind of merchandise you've seen - posters, pins, bookmarks etc. I'm interested in everything.

Ashtalieh - cream cheese pudding

Here is a cream cheese pudding, called ashtalieh:

Ingredients:

1 litre / 1 3/4 pints / 4 cups whole milk
60 ml / 4 tbsp sugar
250 g / generous 1 cup cream cheese
90 ml / 6 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch), slaked with a little extra milk
10-15 ml / 2-3 tsp orange blossom water
15 ml / 1 tbsp pine nuts & 30 ml / 2 tbsp chopped almonds, soaked in cold water overnight
30 ml / 2 tbsp pistachio nuts, chopped

* for the syrup:

225 g / 1 generous cup sugar
juice of 1 lemon
rind of 1/2 lemon, cut into fine strips

- Heat the milk in a heavy pan with the sugar, stirring, and bring to a boil.

- Reduce the heat and add the cream cheese, beating it into the milk and sugar until the mixture is smooth.

- Add a couple of spoonfuls of the mixture to the slaked cornflour, then pour it into the pan, whisking vigorously until the mixture thickens.

- Add the orange blossom water and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes, until it is thick. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and leave it to cool and set. Chill in the refrigerator.

- To make the syrup, put the sugar in a heavy pan with 120 ml / 1/2 cup water and bring it to the boil, stirring constantly until the sugar has dissolved. Add the lemon juice and rind.

- Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, until the syrup is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Remove from the heat and set aside.

- When ready to serve, cut into squares and place on individual plates. Spoon some of the syrup over them and decorate with nuts. Serve chilled or at room temperature.



I got this version of ashtalieh from Ghillie Basan's The Food and Cooking of the Middle East, but a quick search says there's all sorts of variations to play with ~
