As it is now 7 January in all parts of the world,

in_a_peartree is officially over for the season!

However, Trees and comments will remain open for anything still being finished up or for further conversation about what's already been received.

Tags will be wiped before next year's fest.

Over the next handful of days, individual Trees will be posted to this community. As they're posted, they'll be tagged with relevant information and each requestor will receive both a direct link to their Tree for sharing and a link to their Tree's tracking options so they may receive notifications for gift "Pears" as they're given.

This is the last full day to sign up for this year's fest. No requests will be accepted after 3 December, 5AM PST.

After a discussion via PM about raising the maximum number of requests, it seems practical to simply remove it entirely. There is no longer a maximum number of requests, though the minimum is still three.

If you would like to add requests to your already-posted comment, either edit or add an additional comment/textbox to your previous comment and it'll all get combined when turned into your Tree.

To compensate for this change, signups will stay open until 3 December, approximately 5AM PST.

Gifts/Fills and How They Work:

Individual posts, called Trees, will be open for gifts/fills, called Pears, on or by 24 December.

From 24 December to 6 January, decorate those trees! While some trees may end up with more decorations than others, every tree will hopefully get a pear or two.

If any DNWs or something otherwise inappropriate is received, please contact

partridgemod ASAP.

Given the variety of items that may be requested, it's difficult to set parameters for minimums. Generally, for fic or non-poetry written work, 100 words is standard. Simple drawings for art. A complete recipe. A media rec with description. 5 songs for a playlist. 5 pics for a spam. A link to a freely-available knitting pattern. Etc.

There is no anonymous period, AO3 collection, or time when gifts are not visible to their recipients and the community. Please keep this in mind.

Timeline:

Requests may be made between 25 November and 3 December (5AM PDT). They will be turned into Trees by 7 December. These Trees may be decorated with gifts/fills/pears between 24 December and 6 January.

Your DW username and, if you're asking for anything that might be posted to AO3, your AO3 username.

~~You may make 3-5 requests.~~You may make any number of requests, 3 or above. Include enough detail in your requests to convey the sort of fill you'd like to receive.

For example:

Request 1: I've been given three French hens and would like recipes.

Request 2: Picspam of handsome lords and other nobles, leaping optional.

Request 3: Drabbles or otherwise about MCU Steve and Bucky spending the holidays together, including making new traditions for themselves. Steve/Bucky or Steve & Bucky fine. DNW: anything after Black Panther.

Request 4: 5-10 icons of Elsa from Frozen, no text.

Request 5: A playlist of songs about cars, any genre. DNW: The Eagles.

This event is open only to persons 18+ both for making and filling requests. Requests and fills may contain explicit material and should be viewed with discretion. This is a Choose Not to Warn space.

This is not strictly a fandom event. Non-fannish requests are welcome and encouraged.

Do not request the following-- Actual or Fictional Nazis, Post-1900 Serial Killer RPF, Donald Trump, Alt-Right RPF. This list may be expanded at moderator discretion.

The moderator retains the right to ask a requestor to change a request or to not post a specific request.
