Request 1: Ficlets, art, vids, or icons for the Marvel Netflix universe, particularly Iron Fist, Punisher, or Defenders. The Danny-Colleen-Ward triad are my favorites; other favorites are Frank and the Liebermans in Punisher, and Jessica Jones. But I like all the characters and would really enjoy anything about anyone from the various Netflix Marvel series. (Some other random faves: Luke, Jeri, Amy, Foggy, Joy.) Holiday-related fills welcome!
Request 2: Ficlets, art, vids, or icons for Agent Carter. Any characters/pairings are good with me, though the Peggy-Daniel-Jack triad are my favorites (and I ship them in all combos); I also really love the Jarvises and Rose!
Request 3: Recs for fanvids! I love them and would like links to any you feel are good, new or old. I do not need to be familiar with the source, because I like watching vids for unfamiliar-to-me canons, though I might not watch if it's something I'm planning to see and looks spoilery. If you want to specifically rec things I'm currently into, I welcome vids for: MCU movies, Defenders TV (especially Iron Fist or Defenders team vids - but any characters welcome!), Agent Carter, Stranger Things, Schitt's Creek, the Thor movies, and any Black Panther vids about characters other than T'Challa and Erik (not that I don't like them, just that I would like to see vids about the others and most vids are about them!).
Request 4: Icons of any of the following: dragons, 1920s/1930s historical (e.g. noir, gangsters, Prohibition-related, 1920s glamour), Christmas, writing/books.
Request 5: Recs for books (historical, mystery, fantasy, and science fiction are the genres I mainly read), or for webcomics with long-form narrative storytelling (i.e. not the joke-a-day type; I prefer the type with a story and characters to follow).
Request 6: Art, covers, or any other tie-in material for any of my fanfic. I have blanket permission for all forms of associated and derivative creations for my fanfic.
Additional Information: If you'd like more information on my preferences and prompts, you can take a look at my exchange letters tag. (Completely optional.) In general, I like everything from cute domestic fluff to hurt/comfort and angst. I don't like to receive character death, downer endings, or incest.

Date: 2019-12-24 02:36 am (UTC)Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, dystopian, it has some of the bad elements of most dystopians, but overall a more hope outlook for the possibilities of humanity
Lake of Fire by Nathan Fairbairn, this is a graphic novel, so it might not be your thing, but the premise is basically what if insectoid aliens had landed during the middle ages

Date: 2019-12-27 03:46 pm (UTC)Who Tells The Story?
- Lavinia, Ursula K. Le Guin -- Aeneid retelling from the perspective of a minor character; historiography and poetry and domesticity and mysticism
- The Winged Histories, Sofia Samatar -- historiography and poetry make an appearance again against a background of revolution and religio-socio-political upheaval; "who tells the stories" again a central concern
- Banner of the Damned, Sherwood Smith -- epic fantasy from the the perspective of a scribe just trying to do her best
Who Is A Who?
- Cuckoo Song, Frances Hardinge -- dark fantasy YA in the wake of WWI, featuring wishes gone wrong, deeply alien magical beings, and the travails of becoming-despite.
- Earthcast, Lydia West -- an epic-length mythology-imbued dark fantasy adventure. Contains: witches, dark forests, body horror, queer love as lifeline, interrogation of self and personhood, sarcasm.
- Digger, Ursula Vernon -- talking animals! dead gods! culture & belief & morality, oh my. If you haven't read it, it's worth reading. (It's also available in hardcopy.)

Date: 2019-12-30 02:28 pm (UTC)Blood on Your Shirt — my favourite fanvid for one of my favourite TV series of all time, Peaky Blinders. I'm not sure if content warnings are necessary, but just to be safe, the vid includes canon-typical violence (so: murder, violent fight scenes, and a lot of stylised blood) and a suicide attempt.
Na Na Na — an absolutely glorious Mad Max: Fury Road fanvid by Violace, an absolutely perfect match of images and music. Canon-typical violence, again.
Elastic Heart — a Mad Max: Fury Road character study of Furiosa, by Jo Carthage. Beautiful, powerful, bittersweet.

Fanvid recs
Date: 2020-01-07 09:24 am (UTC)Leverage - Tick Tock (4 minutes) by wyomingnot. Very upbeat and team-oriented.
Takarazuka Scarlet Pimpernel - Man of La Mancha by kittychan-sings-enka. Scarlet Pimpernel is one of my favorite fandoms, but there's very few fanvids for it that I know of. (Though at least there are some, unlike for my book-only fandoms.) I really like this choice of song for Percy.
1982 Scarlet Pimpernel - Sharp Dressed Man by ericthefrootbat. As I was writing up this post, I thought that there have got to be more SP vids that I haven't come across yet, so I went poking around. This song/vid focuses on a different side of Percy's character than the previous one, but is also very well chosen.
Star Wars Sequel Trilogy - Outer Space by findmeinthealps. Apparently two of the Star Wars actors were also in Inside Llewyn Davis, where they perform a song about outer space, and the vidder found some apt Star Wars clips to pair it with. It's silly and fun.
MCU - Lions Inside by djcprod & Grable424. I'd never heard this song before I watched the video, and it's such a fantastic choice for these characters/the MCU.
MCU - So What by kaydee falls. Female characters of the MCU (though watching it brings to mind how many fewer female characters the MCU had back in 2012 when this vid was made).
MCU - I really like everything I've watched from Daily Asgardian News. My favorites are I Can Go the Distance (Captain America), Call Me, Beep Me (Black Widow), Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Avengers), I'll Make a Man Out of You (Avengers), & Bad Romance (Loki).
