Request 1: Band of Brothers ficlets, art, or icons for any of the following pairings: Winters/Nixon, Liebgott/Webster, Babe/Roe. Canon era is preferred. Gen is great too. DNW: character death, unhappy endings, hurt with no comfort.
Request 2: The Pacific ficlets, art, or icons for Haldane/Jones. I would definitely prefer fix-its or something that stops short of their unhappy ending. Canon era is preferred. Gen is great too. DNW: focus on character deaths.
Request 3: Star Wars icons for Rey, Finn, Poe, the trio together or as pairs or alone
Request 4: MCU icons of Peggy Carter, Thor, Captain Marvel
Request 5: Doctor Who ficlets, art, or icons of Thirteen and/or Thirteen/Yaz
Request 6: Book recommendations. I read a lot of historical fiction, mostly set during WWII, and I’m always looking for more. I’d also be interested in fiction set during other periods of history.
Additional Information: Please let me know if anything needs to be clarified! Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
BabeRoe fic!
Here's a little BabeRoe h/c that I whipped up for your first request. It turned out to be a little more hurt than I intended, but the ending is still on the happier side of things, I suppose! Anyhow, its hilariously un-beta'd. Forgive me for that. And I hope you enjoy!
Hold On, BabeRoe fic
Happy Holidays and all that.

Random Andy/Eddie Snippit
Andy'd never asked him why he bothered with trying to keep himself neat in the face of the jungle. Every man got through however they could, and besides, Andy liked watching him. After the first few times, the repetition of the motions calmed Andy: a familiar song in the middle of the wilds of the Pacific. No matter how worn down they were, at the end of day and the crack of dawn, Eddie Jones would put himself back together.
Sometimes, if they were alone, right before he slept, Eddie would reach across the space between them and take Andy's hand in his own, squeezing lightly. He'd smile at Andy, and then he'd sleep like the dead.
Later, after everything, they jammed themselves into a shell crater at the edge of the Peleliu airfield. The improvised foxhole had just enough space for them to sit facing each other with Andy boondockers resting against Eddie's hip, and Eddie's doing the same to him.
Andy's very bones ached, and he knew they'd have to run across that field the next day, losing God knew how many boys. He needed at least a few hours of rest. He needed to stop thinking about what was going to happen. All he wanted to do was rest his head against the wall and sleep.
Instead, Andy watched through half-closed eyes as Eddie tried to wipe himself clean when every drop of canteen water had to be saved and his mouth was too dry to spit. Mostly, he was managing to smear coral dust across his face, ingraining it even deeper. Sea water mingled with blood and sweat on his blouse, but he straightened and rebuttoned it anyway, before sighing faintly.
Andy made a displeased grunt, and Eddie glanced up, eyes meeting Andy's.
"You should sleep, Skipper," Eddie said.
"In a minute," Andy murmured. He was half unconscious already, the habits of the Marines telling him that a body not moving should be sleeping, but he couldn't quite pass out while feeling Eddie's agitation vibrating across the space between them.
Eddie started to check his rifle, using the pocket square he'd just used on his face to brush away dust and sand. He'd done that already when they'd first settled in here, looking after his weapon before his body.
Andy leaned forward just a fraction and unclipped his canteen. He took enough of a sip to moisten his lips, then, before Eddie could say anything, tipped just a splash of water onto the sleeve of his blouse.
"Skip," Eddie protested, but he leaned in too, and let Andy wipe his face with his sleeve. It didn't make much difference, lifting only a little dirt, the coolness negligible as Andy's skin warmed the sleeve, but Eddie closed his eyes and pressed against Andy touch like it was the Balm of Gilead.
When he was done, Andy fell back against his side of the crater and closed his eyes. He couldn't bare to look at the crumpled expression of devotion and dread on Eddie's face, not when he might lose him in the morning.
"Wake me in two," Andy said.
"Yes, sir," Eddie told him. "I have the watch."
Eddie still reached over and squeezed Andy's hand where it was folded across his chest.
Andy had known he wouldn't sleep until he did.

I like the idea that it's a coping mechanism for Eddie (and maybe a little for Andy too).

No! This is clearly the start of a very happy everybody lives AU!
Thank you so much for writing this!

WWII historical fiction recs
Searching for Shona (1978), by Margaret J. Anderson - In 1939, a girl is supposed to be evacuated to stay with distant family in Canada, but on impulse she swaps places and identities with Shona, a girl from an orphanage being evacuated to the south of Scotland. Very sweet.
Enemy Brothers (1943), by Constance Savery - I...actually haven't gotten around to reading this yet (I've been saving it for when I need a treat!), but my younger siblings recommend it highly. And I love the other books by Constance Savery that I have read (like The Reb and the Redcoats, American Revolution fiction that I also recommend), so I'd be sure it was good even if I didn't have their assurances. Enemy Brothers is about two brothers, one of whom was raised in Germany to be in favor of their national ideals at the time, and the other of whom remained in England and tries to win his brother back. The book was actually written during World War II.
