I read Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore this year and loved it. The most non-spoilery way I can describe it is that it's a cleverly and uniquely structured multi-genre YA novel with complicated yet self-consistent worldbuilding. For me, part of the fun was watching it unfold without knowing what to expect, so if you're considering reading it, I'd recommend not reading reviews or anything much about it before just diving in!
